Rox Announce Upcoming Events

Brockton, Mass. - The Brockton Rox of the Can-Am League announced on Friday two upcoming events taking place at Campanelli Stadium.

The park will be hosting the Cranberry League/Boston Park League All-Star Game on Friday, July 16. The two leagues will face off at 7:30 p.m., with a home run derby taking place prior to the game at 6:45 p.m.

The Cranberry League includes eleven teams scattered throughout the South Shore, while the Boston Park League has nine teams from within Boston.

On Sunday, July 18, the Irish National Baseball Team will be taking on a joint Cranberry League/Boston Park League all-star team at 1:00 p.m. at the stadium. The Irish national team is currently on a ten-day tour of New England, playing various collegiate and amateur clubs.

The Irish national baseball team has been participating in international tournaments since 1996, and is under the auspices of the Irish Baseball & Softball Federation, the sport's national governing body.With the support of the Major League Baseball International (MLBI) organization, the Irish national league has ten teams: six teams located in Dublin and the others in Belfast, Cavern, Limerick and Wicklow.

With the rapid rise in participation in the youth program, baseball is now played throughout the Republic and Northern Ireland making it the fastest growing sport in all of Ireland.

Tickets for both games will be available at the gates at Campanelli Stadium for $5 per person.
