It only took six minutes for the FC Tampa Bay Rowdies to get the scoring started in a 3-1 defeat of the NSC Minnesota Stars on Thursday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field. The win kept the gap between the Rowdies and the first-place Austin Aztex at only two points for the league lead. Also, with Miami FC's loss on Wednesday night and the Rowdies win, FC Tampa Bay now holds the longest unbeaten streak in the league at six games. The team scored three goals in the opening half hour, avenging a previous 1-0 loss to the Stars in Blaine, Minnesota on April 24th. Perhaps with an eye on the quick turnaround before Saturday night's match with the Puerto Rico Islanders, FC Tampa Bay was content to keep the score at 3-1. The Rowdies used all five available substitutions in the second half, preserving the 3-1 score line until the final whistle. [May29]
Saturday night, the "Tickets for Troops" program, which provides complimentary tickets to the game for local military members and their families at MacDill Air Force Base, will bring in more than 1,000 local military members and their families to the Rowdies match against Puerto Rico. Military members will also receive special recognition throughout the night.

FC Tampa Bay Rowdies are selling 30 limited edition Support our Troops jerseys for $75 in honor of Memorial Day with proceeds benefiting the "Tickets for Troops" program.
Rowdies players will be wearing the limited edition Support Our Troops jerseys during the match Saturday against the Puerto Rico Islanders. FC Tampa Bay will be auctioning off the Support Our Troops jerseys worn by the players to fans with proceeds benefiting the "Tickets for Troops" program
A total of 50 limited edition jerseys are being generously donated by Lotto, the official gear sponsor of the Rowdies.
The limited edition jerseys can be purchased today at our online store and the player jerseys will be available to bid on through our site through ebay starting on Memorial Day.
