METAIRIE, La. - Three unearned runs gave New Orleans a lead, and Brad Davis' sixth-inning home run secured the win as the Zephyrs defeated the Round Rock Express 6-1 in Pacific Coast League action Friday night at Zephyr Field. The Express (29-32) snapped a four-game winning streak, their longest run of success this season. The Zephyrs (28-31) evened the series and improved to 7-3 against Round Rock in 2010.

New Orleans plated a pair of unearned runs in the fourth inning on two hits and a rare Yordany Ramirez error. Mike Lamb and Donnie Murphy opened the inning with consecutive singles. Murphy's one-base knock skipped past Ramirez in center all the way to the warning track, allowing Lamb to score and Murphy to reach third. Brett Carroll followed with an RBI groundout.

The Zephyrs added another unearned run in the fifth when John Raynor reached on a one-out Chris Johnson error and scored on Logan Morrison's two-out double. However, it was Davis' sixth-inning homer that gave New Orleans a comfortable lead. Carroll walked with one out; after Polin Trinidad struck out Scott Cousins, Davis blasted a two-run shot to left.

Round Rock scratched the board for a run in the seventh as Oswaldo Navarro led off with a single, moved to third on a pair of wild pitches and scored when Ramirez bounced into a double play. Morrison capped the scoring in the bottom of the inning with a one-out RBI single.

Trinidad (3-4) took the loss; he allowed five runs, only two of which were earned, on seven hits and a walk with four strikeouts over 6.0 innings. Evan Englebrook surrendered one unearned run on three hits and a walk in 2.0 innings of relief work.

Starter Sean West (2-0) tossed 5.0 shutout innings on three hits and a walk with five strikeouts to earn the win. Four New Orleans relievers worked a frame each to close the game.

Johnson was 3-for-4 at the plate, while Navarro was 2-for-4. Jason Castro was 0-for-3 with a walk; he has reached safely in 30 consecutive games, the second-longest on-base streak in the PCL this season.

Morrison, Murphy and Davis each had two hits for the Zephyrs.

Round Rock and New Orleans continue their four-game series Saturday with a 6 p.m. CDT first pitch at Zephyr Field. Right-hander Bud Norris (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will make a rehab start for the Express, while right-hander Adalberto Mendez (2-0, 0.96 ERA) gets the nod for the Zephyrs.
