Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Tim Corcoran and three other pitchers combined on a five-hit shutout as the Albuquerque Isotopes blanked the Round Rock Express 4-0 in Monday's season finale at The Dell Diamond. The Express concluded the season at 57-87, while the Isotopes closed the campaign at 72-71.

Corcoran, the younger brother of Express reliever Roy Corcoran, allowed all five Express hits but did not walk a batter and struck out five over 5.0 innings. Brent Leach, Geoff Geary and Cory Wade each tossed a scoreless inning in relief. Leach and Geary each had two strikeouts.

Albuquerque led wire-to-wire, scoring a run on two hits in the top of the first. Jamie Hoffman opened the game with a single, stole second and scored on Michael Restovich's two-out RBI single. Restovich pushed the Isotopes lead to 2-0 with a one-out solo homer in the fourth. Albuquerque capped the scoring in the seventh on Scott Van Slyke's two-run homer.

Express starter Josh Banks (9-12) was saddled with the loss; he allowed four runs on seven hits and no walks with a season-high eight strikeouts over 7.0 innings. Gary Majewski and Roy Corcoran each worked a scoreless inning of relief.

Hoffman and Restovich both were 2-for-4, producing the game's only multiple-hit outings.

Round Rock opens the 2011 season Thursday, April 7, hosting the Iowa Cubs at The Dell Diamond.
