Cedar Rapids RoughRiders News Release

Cedar Rapids, Iowa- The Dale Earnhardt Jr. #8 Budweiser Born on Date car will be on display during the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders' Saturday, November 13 game against the Green Bay Gamblers at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena, the RoughRiders announced today.

"This is just a small example of what the community can look forward to when they come to RoughRiders games this season," said RoughRiders Vice President of Operations Jim Calpin. "We're going to work very closely with our sponsors to bring more events like this to our arena."

Fans will need to purchase tickets to the RoughRiders' game in order to view the car.

Earnhardt is one of NASCAR's top young drivers. He has won nine Nextel Cup races during his five year career, including this year's Daytona 500. Earnhardt Jr. is the son of the late NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Sr. The 29-year old Earnhardt Jr. races for Dale Earnhardt Incorporated.

Single game tickets for the November 13 game and all other RoughRiders first half home games will go on sale in September. The exact date for the opening of individual ticket sales has not yet been announced.

The RoughRiders will open their sixth season on Saturday, September 25 when they visit the Des Moines Buccaneers. The RoughRiders play their home opener on Saturday, October 16, when they host their arch rivals, the Clark Cup champion Waterloo Black Hawks.

2004-05 season tickets are currently available through the RoughRiders' business office (247-0340). Fans who pay for season tickets in full before August 31 will receive a 10% discount in addition to a host of other benefits available exclusively to season ticket holders.

Over their first five seasons, the Riders have secured a place as one of the top organizations in the USHL. The RoughRiders are one of just three teams to have reached the USHL playoffs each of the last four seasons and last year set a franchise record for wins in a season. The Riders are also annually among the league leaders in attendance, frequently drawing sellout crowds to the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
