RoughRiders Fall to Indiana 3-2
Indianapolis, Indiana- John Kemp scored one goal and added two assists as the host Indiana Ice defeated the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders 3-2 Saturday night.
Kemp broke a 1-1 tie with a power play goal at 2:40 of the third period. He snapped a wrist shot home from the left wing circle to give the Ice its first lead of the night.
John Carlson extended the Indiana lead to 3-1 with a blast from the right wing circle with just 1:42 left in the third.
Even down two goals late, the Riders weren't quite finished. Cedar Rapids pulled the goaltender to bring on an extra attacker and pulled within one when Mike Seidel banked the puck in off Indiana goalie Scott Darling with 50 seconds left, but the Riders were unable to produce a late equalizer.
It was the Riders who opened the scoring in the first period while on the power play. Bryce Aneloski converted a Doug Jones feed from the slot to make it 1-0 at 7:22 of the first.
The Ice responded when Robert Martini scored the first of three straight Indiana goals at 15:39 of the second period.
