Junior Blue Jackets Fall To Stars 4-3 In Overtime
Columbus, OH - The Ohio Junior Blue Jackets were defeated 4-3 by the Lincoln Stars in overtime Sunday at the Dispatch Ice Haus.
Ohio (3-8-4) scored the first two goals of the game. Forward Derek Roehl tallied a goal at the 8:52 mark and Matt Leitner followed with a power-play goal at 14:39. Forward Justin Cseter assisted on both goals.
Junior Blue Jackets goaltender Corson Cramer made 39 saves, including 16 in each of the first two periods. With the score 2-1, defenseman Steven Spinell scored to push the Ohio lead back to two goals. Forward Clark MacLean picked up his second assist of the night on the play.
Stars goaltender Kevin Murdock made 30 saves and got the win when Rick Carden fired a shot past Cramer 2:34 into the extra session. The Junior Blue Jackets were 1-for-6 on the power play, while Lincoln was 1-for-7.
The Junior Blue Jackets are one the road next Friday and Saturday, with games at Waterloo and Des Moines. Both game times are set for 8:05 p.m. EST.
