Cedar Rapids RoughRiders News Release
Fargo, North Dakota- Johnnie Searfoss scored one goal and assisted on another as the host Fargo Force defeated the RoughRiders 3-1 Saturday night. The loss ended the Riders' eight-game winning streak.
The Force turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 lead by scoring twice in a span of just 49 seconds in the second period. Fargo was on the power play when Searfoss broke in alone to even the score at one at 6:37 of the second. At 7:26 Chris Franks broke the deadlock by backhanding the puck home from the left wing circle.
Keegan Flaherty charged down the slot to score an insurance goal at 4:08 of the third period.
Early on it seemed the night might take a different course, as Cody Murphy buried a Ben Lynch centering pass to give the RoughRiders a 1-0 lead just 1:08 into the game, but the Riders would have little to cheer about the rest of the way.
