Cedar Rapids, Iowa- Jacob Cepis scored two goals and Richard Bachman made 43 saves as the host RoughRiders defeated the Indiana Ice 4-1 Saturday night.
Cepis opended the scoring just 1:28 into the game by snapping the puck past Indiana goaltender Alex Kangas (36 saves) from the slot.
The Riders were on the power player when Tommy Wingels scored from the side of the net to double the lead at 12:04 of the first period.
Mike Seidel's power play goal extended the lead to 3-0 at 11:59 of the second period. Seidel buried the puck from the doorstep after Brian Arrigoni blocked a Kevin Wehrs blue line blast.
Arrigoni would get Indiana on the scoreboard at 12:11 of the third period when he beat Bachman from the slot.
With just 55 seconds left in the game Cepis finished off the Ice with the Riders' third power play goal. Cepis scored his second of the night from close range.
Bachman was at his busiest in the third period, stopping 16 Indiana shots in the final 20 minutes.
