
Roughriders Announce 2012 Schedule

FRISCO, TX - The Frisco RoughRiders 2012 Texas League schedule has been released and features 140 games including 13 home stands and 10 Firework Friday contests.
The season opens up on the road against the Springfield Cardinals on Thursday, April 5. That three-game series will feature the Double-A affiliates of the American League Champion Texas Rangers and National League Champion St. Louis Cardinals.
The RoughRiders will end the regular season at home with a three-game series against Midland, September 1-3, with the Texas League playoffs beginning on September 5.
Before the regular season begins, the RoughRiders will host the Texas Rangers at Dr Pepper Ballpark for an exhibition game on Wednesday, aPRIL 4. It marks the first game between the two clubs since 2008, and the sixth time the Rangers have played at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
The 'Riders finished the 2011 season 79-61 record, the eighth time in nine seasons with 70-plus wins. The 'club was one win shy of its fourth 80-win season. RoughRiders' manager Steve Buechele looks forward to another winning season in Frisco. "We've had the good fortune of having some incredibly talented players over the last couple of seasons. I'm sure the fans will see some more great players in 2012."
