RoughRiders Add Forward from Tri-City

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders have added forward Donte Lawson in a trade with the Tri-City Storm, the team announced today. In exchange, the RoughRiders will send a 2020 Phase II draft choice.
Lawson, a native of Taconite, Minnesota, played for Greenway (MN) High School last season and led the Raiders in scoring as the team went to the 7A Minnesota State Championship game.
Lawson earned the Herb Brooks award, given to the most qualified hockey player in the Minnesota state tournament who strongly represents the iconic coach's values, characteristics and traits. He is committed to play collegiately at Bemidji State University.
The RoughRiders open the 2019-2020 regular season on Friday, October 4th and Saturday, October 5th when the take on the USA Hockey National Development Program U-17 team. Both games begin at 7:05 pm.
