Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release
The Roughrider Foundation is thrilled to announce a new and exciting event coming to Saskatoon this March, the Roughrider Foundation Winter Classic presented by BASF Canada Agricultural Solutions.
The first of its kind hockey game will take Place at Merlis Belsher Place at 7 p.m. on March 18th and will include team captains Brett Lauther and Rob Bagg battling it out for the coveted title as this year's winner. Joining them on the ice will be other current and past Roughrider greats as well as celebrity guests who will be announced in the coming weeks.
"I'm so excited to be back in Saskatchewan and in front of Rider Nation," said Roughrider alumni, Rob Bagg. "I've got a backyard rink here so looks like I'm going to be getting up a little bit earlier and spending some time to make sure my dangles are on point."
The unique hockey game will provide entertainment for the whole family and feature several kids' activities, giveaways, and in-game activations as well as the opportunity to see Roughrider players and alumni on the ice instead of the football field. This year's proceeds will help kids across the province play the game they love through KidSport.
"While I can't give away too many secrets yet, what I can tell you is the game is going to be lots of fun and I can't wait to see Rider Nation pack the stands in March," said Roughrider Foundation and KidSport Ambassador, Brett Lauther.
Tickets for the game will go on sale to the public Monday, February 20th and will be $25 each for individuals 13 and older. Children under the age of 12 are free with the accompaniment of an adult.
