Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks took down the Saskatchewan Rush 11-6 Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome, with over 17,000 fans attending the St Patrick's Day match up.

Roughnecks captain Jesse King was first on the board, followed by Tanner Cook netting his first of the evening. The Rush answered back with a goal less than a minute later before Jeff Cornwall found the back of the net shorthanded in his first game back after injury. King closed out the final quarter with a power play goal to leave Calgary up 4-1. Kyle Waters and Tyler Pace both netted a goal in the second frame, with Saskatchewan adding another single.

The third quarter was a low scoring affair, with only two goals for the Saskatchewan Rush, before Calgary was able to come back with force in the final frame. After an early Rush goal to start the fourth, the Roughnecks strung together five unanswered goals to take a solid lead. The Rush were unable to make the comeback, adding one final goal to their tally to end the game.

Tyler Pace led the team in points tonight with eight (3g, 5a). Jesse King came away with four goals, with Dan Taylor, Jeff Cornwall, Tanner Cook and Kyle Waters each adding one. Christian Del Bianco was solid in the Calgary net, stopping 32 of 38 shots and in the process surpassing 3000 career saves. Josh Currier reached 100 career assists tonight, finishing with 101, whilst Jeff Cornwall reached 100 career points. Tyler Pace reached 200 career loose balls tonight after scooping three in the game.

The Calgary Roughnecks are now 9-4 on the season, with 5 games remaining in the regular season. The team heads to Saskatchewan next week to take on the Rush at Sasktel Centre on Saturday, March 25th.
