
Roughnecks Set to Open Training Camp Friday

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks today announced the National Lacrosse League club will open training camp for the 2014 NLL season on Friday, Nov. 29 with team meetings and medicals at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Players, coaches and management will be available to the media from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
The Roughnecks will hit the turf for three sessions over the first weekend of training, beginning on Nov. 29 at 4:00 p.m. at the Calgary Soccer Centre (7000 - 48 Street SE). Two on-field sessions will follow on Saturday, Nov. 30, starting at 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Calgary Soccer Centre. Filming of the on-field sessions is permitted for the first 15 minutes of each two-hour practice.
Training camp will continue in Langley, British Columbia, on December 6-7 and will conclude in Oakville, Ontario, over the weekend of December 13-15. The camp schedule is highlighted by three pre-season scrimmages against the Vancouver Stealth (Dec. 6), Minnesota Swarm (Dec. 14) and Rochester Knighthawks (Dec. 15).
The Roughnecks will trim the training camp roster to 20 players on Monday, Dec. 16.

The Roughnecks will open their 13th NLL season on the road when Calgary visits the Toronto Rock on Friday, Jan. 3, with a 5:30 p.m. MT face-off at Air Canada Centre.
