Roughnecks Set for Playoff Debut Saturday in San Antonio
October 20, 2017 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
FC Tulsa News Release
The Tulsa Roughnecks FC will play its first-ever playoff match on Saturday, October 21 when it travels to Texas to face San Antonio FC in the first-round of the USL Cup Playoffs. Kickoff at San Antonio's Toyota Field is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
The match will be available for viewing on YouTube through the USL Match Center.
The Roustabouts will also host a Watch Party at the Busch Scoreboard Bar at ONEOK Field for fans of all ages.
The Roughnecks will enter the postseason as the seventh seed in the USL's Western Conference, while San Antonio comes in as the second seed. The match will mark the first-ever playoff appearance for both teams.
The game will be a rematch of the memorable U.S. Open Cup match from earlier this season. The two teams battled to a 0-0 draw over 120 minutes before TRFC claimed victory in the third-round meeting on penalty kicks.
The Roughnecks have never beaten San Antonio in a regular season match, dropping all five previous meetings. TRFC fell 3-1 in Texas on June 17 and suffered a 2-0 home loss to SAFC on September 30.
The winner of Saturday's match will advance to the Western Conference semifinals to face the winner of the Oklahoma City versus Reno 1868 FC game.
Saturday's Watch Party will feature FREE chicken wings and chicken bites compliments of Brakebush Chicken. In addition, 20-ounce domestic beers will be on sale for only $3 per serving and 20-ounce craft beers will be available for only $5 per serving. Soft drinks will also be on sale.
The match will be shown live on the big screen TVs at the Busch Scoreboard Bar as well as on the ONEOK Field Jumbo Screen.
The TD Williamson Kids Zone will be open for younger fans, and games such as Cornhole and Giant Jenga will be available for everyone to enjoy.
Fans attending the party can enter ONEOK Field through the Archer Entrance, located on the south side of the stadium.
