Calgary, AB - Roughnecks draft pick Jordon Sealock today told the club he is investigating recent offers from a number of U.S. colleges and will probably not be joining the National Lacrosse League squad for the 2007 season.

"My mind is going a million miles per hour," said Sealock. "Two days ago, I was purely focussed on the Roughnecks physical testing this coming weekend. My mind and body were prepared. I was just so excited to find out how I'd stack up against the rest of the guys."

But after learning from Roughnecks General Manager and Vice President Kurt Silcott that contact with professionals could ruin any scholarship opportunities, Sealock decided to stay at home.

"Obviously, I'm torn," said Sealock, the first ever Airdrie product to be drafted into the NLL. "It's always been my dream to play professional lacrosse, but there's no way I can ignore the chance to go to a top flight American college.

"If, however, things don't turn out well south of the border, my number one priority will be to come back here and fight for a spot on the Roughnecks roster."

Silcott said, "Jordon is a fine young player and we wish him only the best in his college career. He can always try out for us in a few years."

Sealock, 20, was taken in the 5th round (60th overall) in the 2006 entry draft. He is 6 ft. 1 in. and weighs 190 lbs.
