Roughnecks Outlast Vancouver in Overtime

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks defeated the Vancouver Warriors 10-9 in overtime Friday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome, in the second of three regular season games between the two division rivals.

With the Roughnecks up 6-4 at the half, Haiden Dickson added one to the tally before the Warriors scored three straight to make it a tie game going into the final quarter.

Vancouver were first to score in the fourth to take the lead, before Tyler Pace answered with a goal followed shortly after by Curtis Dickson notching his third of the evening. A final Vancouver goal tied the score at 9-9 sending the game to overtime.

Curtis Dickson scored the game winner with three seconds left on the shot clock 31 seconds into overtime.

Curtis Dickson (4g, 1a) and Haiden Dickson (2g 1a) led Calgary offensively, with Daniel Taylor, Jesse King, Tyler Pace and Zach Herreweyers each adding one goal to the tally. Keegan Bal and Logan Schuss led Vancouver in points with two goals and three assists each.

Christian Del Bianco had a strong outing in the Calgary net, stopping 37 of 46 shots faced. Vancouver outshot Calgary 46-45.

The Roughnecks are now 6 and 7 with five games left in the regular season.

The Roughnecks are back at WestJet Field next weekend for two of the biggest parties of the Season. Calgary hosts the Halifax Thunderbirds for the East Coast Kitchen Party on Friday April 9th, before taking on Panther City LC Saturday night for the Superhero Party.
