Calgary Roughnecks News Release

Calgary, AB---Despite the monumental efforts of skipper Tracey Kelusky and leading scorer Lewis Ratcliff, Calgary went down to a 13-14 overtime defeat in San Jose Saturday night.

The Roughnecks started slowly and with less than seven minutes gone on the clock, they were behind 0-4.

By the end of the quarter it was 3-7, at the half it was 5-8, and by the time the third period was complete, Calgary held a 10-9 advantage.

The lead changed several times in the final stanza, and with just three minutes to go, the Riggers had their noses in front 13-12.

But Gary Rosyski first tied the score and then slotted the winner 55 seconds into overtime to deny Calgary a clear lead atop the National Lacrosse League's West Division.

Calgary (6-5) now share the lead with Colorado (who beat Arizona 15-11), with San Jose (5-4) third, and Arizona and Portland close behind at 5-5.

Lewis Ratcliff who got six points (4goals, 2 assists) against Edmonton only 24 hours earlier, cashed in another eight (1 goal, 7 assists) in San Jose, while Kelusky showed why he continues to be one of the stars in the NLL with 5 goals and an assist.

Other Calgary markers came from Kaleb Toth (3 goals, 2 assists), Jason Wulder (2 goals) and Kevin Dostie (2 goals, 2 assists).

Andrew Leyshon making a rare start in net for the Riggers took the loss.

San Jose got goals from Rosyski (4 goals, 3 assists), Zywicki (3 goals, 2 assists), Boyle (2goals, 1 assist), Fines (2 goals, 2 assists), Derek Malawsky, Sedgwick and Reisig.

Calgary's next game is in Toronto next Saturday afternoon (March 25). The game will be aired live on Rogers Sportsnet (Channel 27).
