Roughnecks Ink Scott Ranger To Three Years

CALGARY, AB - Calgary Roughnecks President and General Manager Brad Banister announced today that the club has signed forward Scott Ranger to a three-year deal. Terms of the deal were not disclosed and are subject to league approval.

The 26-year-old native of Nanaimo, BC, tallied 19 goals and 32 assists for 51 points in 15 regular season games last season. In that time, he recorded three power play goals, five power play assists, two short-handed goals and one game-winner.

In three playoff games, Ranger collected 13 points, including four goals and nine assists.

Prior to his time with the Roughnecks, Ranger played for the former San Jose Stealth, which is now the Washington Stealth.

In other signings, the Roughnecks inked defenceman Garrett Werschke and transition player Casey MacIntyre to one-year deals.

Both players were recently drafted by the Roughnecks in the 2009 NLL Entry Draft and are native Calgarians, who have played alongside each other with the Calgary Jr. A Raiders.

Werschke tallied 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points this season for the Jr. A Raiders, while MacIntyre recorded 58 points, including 20 goals and 38 assists, while collecting 104 loose balls.

The Calgary Roughnecks kick-off the 2010 season on Sunday, January 10th at the Pengrowth Saddledome against the Minnesota Swarm.
