
Roughnecks Fall To Colorado Mammoth 14-10

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Roughnecks fell 14-10 to the Colorado Mammoth Saturday at Ball Arena in Denver in the first game of a home-and-home series between the two Western Division teams.
Trailing 5-2 after the first quarter the Roughnecks struck for five straight goals, capped by rookie Carter McKenzie's first goal in the NLL, to take a 7-5 lead and carried a 7-6 lead into halftime. After Calgary established a 10-7 lead in the third quarter the Mammoth went on their own run and held on for the victory.
Forwards Jesse King, Dan Taylor, Zach Herreweyers and rookie Kyle Waters each had two goals for the Riggers, with King and Taylor each adding four assists to lead the Roughnecks offence with six points apiece.
The Roughnecks outshot Colorado 52-46. Christian Del Bianco made 32 stops while Colorado goalie Dillon Ward made 42 saves.
The Riggers take on Colorado again next week for the Valentine's Party at Scotiabank Saddledome, for the second of three matches against the Mammoth. Game time is Friday, February 11th at 7:00pm.
