Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Rush downed the Calgary Roughnecks 15-8 Friday evening at Rexall Place.
Roughnecks forward Dane Dobbie recorded a hat trick and added an assist, while Jeff Shatter (1g, 1a) contributed with two points and rookie Tor Reinholdt scored his first career NLL goal for Calgary. Transition player Geoff Snider recorded his 100th career NLL goal in the setback and 10-year NLL veteran Scott Ranger reached 400 career points with a pair of goals.
Mark Matthews, the 2013 NLL Rookie of the Year, led the Rush with four goals and three helpers, while Curtis Knight (4g, 1a) and Chris Corbeil (3g, 2a) both recorded five-point performances for Edmonton. Jarrett Davis (2g), John LaFontaine (1g) and Robert Church (1g) also scored in the win.
Calgary goaltenders Mike Poulin and Frankie Scigliano made a combined 36 saves in the loss.
The Roughnecks return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 18, when Calgary hosts the Vancouver Stealth in the Calgary Police Services Night at 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
