
Roughnecks Conclude Regular Season with Win

Langley, BC - The Calgary Roughnecks, in their final game of the regular season, defeated the Vancouver Stealth 14-8 Saturday evening at the Langley Events Centre, sweeping the four-game series.
Dane Dobbie recorded a hat trick to finish the regular season with a league-leading 51 goals, a franchise record. The previous club record of 50 goals was set by former Roughneck and current Stealth forward Lewis Ratcliff in 2007. Dobbie added two assists to finish the night with five points and a career-best 90 points on the season. Three-goal efforts also came from Shawn Evans and Curtis Dickson, while Jeff Shattler scored twice. Garrett McIntosh, Karen Leung and Geoff Snider rounded out the scoring for Calgary. Snider, who won 12 of 23 draws, finished the 18-game schedule with a franchise-best 317 faceoff wins, surpassing the record he set last season (310).
Tyler Digby and Rhys Duch each recorded a pair of goals for Vancouver, while one-goal contributions came from Ilija Gajic, Tyler Garrison, Justin Salt and Cody Bremner.
Calgary goaltender Mike Poulin turned aside 33 of 40 shots, before being replaced by Frankie Scigliano, who made three saves in the final quarter. Poulin recorded the win, his 12th of the year, and finished the regular season with a career-high 602 saves. Matt Roik made 42 stops in defeat.
The Roughnecks conclude the regular season with a 12-6 record and will now open the 2014 NLL Playoffs against the Colorado Mammoth on Saturday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
