Philadelphia, PA - With a 13-9 victory over the Philadelphia Wings Friday evening at the Wells Fargo Center, the Calgary Roughnecks have clinched a playoff berth. The Roughnecks, now 9-5 on the season, have recorded a win in their last three games.
Roughnecks forward Dane Dobbie, with a strong three-goal fourth quarter, finished the game with five points (4g, 1a), while Shawn Evans had an impressive seven-point performance, recording a hat trick and four assists. Jeff Shattler (2), rookie Karsen Leung (1), Curtis Dickson (1), Daryl Veltman (1) and Geoff Snider all contributed with goals in the win. Shattler and Leung also added three helpers each for Calgary.
Pat Saunders led Philadelphia with four goals and two assists, while Jordan Hall, CJ Costabile, Brodie Merrill, John Ranagan and Tracey Kelusky also scored for the home squad.
Calgary goaltender Mike Poulin picked up the win, making 45 saves, while Evan Kirk made 34 stops for the Wings in defeat.
The Roughnecks return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Apr. 5, when Calgary visits the Buffalo Bandits (8-5) at 5:00 p.m. at the First Niagara Center (TSN2).
