KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, have announced a pair of roster moves in advance of Saturday's game against the West Virginia Power. Infielder Sam Dexter joins the Intimidators from the Rookie Arizona League White Sox, and outfielder Frank Califano has been transferred to Advanced Rookie Great Falls in a corresponding move. Also today, the Intimidators received right-handed pitcher Brandon Quintero from Great Falls and placed Mike Morrison on the temporary inactive list.

Dexter, 22, is in his professional debut season after being selected by the White Sox in the 23rd round of the June 2016 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Southern Maine. In 22 games between the AZL White Sox and Great Falls Voyagers, Dexter is batting .222 (26-117) with four doubles, a triple, two home runs, and 15 RBI. He wrapped up a decorated career with the Southern Maine Huskies as a senior in 2016, being named Little League Conference Player of the Year and All-Conference First Team. Dexter became the second player in NCAA Division III history to reach 300 career hits on May 1, 2016, against Framingham State. He was also named ECAC Division III New England first team shortstop, ABCA/Rawlings Division III and D3baseball.com first team All-American, and D3baseball.com New England Region Player of the Year and first team all-region after batting .404 with five home runs and 44 RBI in 42 games for the Huskies.

The Kannapolis roster now features nine members of the White Sox 2016 draft class on the roster, including Alex Call (third round), Jimmy Lambert (fifth round), Nate Nolan (eighth round), Zach Remillard (10th round), Ian Hamilton (11th round), Ben Wright (16th round), Michael Horejsi (21st round), Dexter, and Mike Morrison (27th round).

Califano, 22, has appeared in six games over two stints with the Intimidators, batting .250 (4-16) this season. Between Kannapolis, Great Falls, and the AZL White Sox, the outfielder is batting .215 (23-107) with a double, a triple, and eight RBI in 33 games this season.

The Intimidators are home tonight against the West Virginia Power (Pittsburgh Pirates) at 7:05 p.m. at Intimidators Stadium supported by Carolinas HealthCare System. Saturday's game is Noche Latina Hispanic Heritage Night presented by Walmart and Kelli Y. Allen Elder & Immigration Law.
