Rosenfield Honored with Street Dedication
September 12, 2012 - International League (IL1)
Norfolk Tides News Release
As an honor to longtime Norfolk Tides General Manager Dave Rosenfield, the Norfolk City Council voted Tuesday night to rename a portion of road outside Harbor Park to "Rosey's Way". "Rosey's Way" will stretch from Water Street to the railroad tracks near the park.
"It's very gratifying to be awarded with such a tremendous distinction" said Rosenfield. "I've had so much fun doing this job for over 50 years, and I never expected to be honored like this - it's very humbling."
Rosenfield first joined the Tides in 1962 and served as General Manager of the club from 1963 to 2011 before being named the Executive Vice President and Senior Advisor to the President following the 2011 season. He was named the "King of Baseball" at the Baseball Winter Meetings in December, 2004, and he's been named the International League's Executive of the Year on four different occasions. He has also been inducted into the International League Hall of Fame and the Hampton Roads Sports Hall of Fame.
There will be a formal dedication of "Rosey's Way" at a future date.
