Roots Return to Laney on August 4th on ESPN2

Oakland Roots announce that after weeks of work following the arrival of the new turf system, they will return home to Laney College on 8/4 to host Phoenix Rising, a game that will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2. The staff has been working round the clock preparing the new system to allow us to return to Laney as soon as possible. The new turf will be laid down on 7/29 and inspected by USL and USSF officials on 7/30 to confirm it is 100% ready to host games at Laney College for the remainder of the season and beyond.

The August 4th return to Laney will be a very special moment as we get back to playing in the city we proudly wear on our chest every game. Roots will be offering $1 beers, $1 hot dogs and $1 soft drinks as a thank you to our fans who have stuck by us through this challenging time. Roots members will receive 25% off all in stadium merchandise, because we appreciate you. Roots are working with fans, partners, community leaders and the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce to help pack the stadium for our ESPN2 debut and bring the magic of The Town to a national TV audience.

With the new turf being walked on 7/30, we've made the decision to plan a Roots Field Trip out to Las Positas College for our game against Orange County SC on 7/31. This was to ensure we had enough time to fully test and prepare the new system before our players take the field on it for the first time. Our last Field Trip was a huge success and we want to bring The Town spirit back to Las Positas.

Oakland Roots Members and single-game ticket holders for 7/31 will receive seats on the sideline bleachers at Las Positas College. All Roots Members will receive complimentary food and drink vouchers that will be available to be picked up on game day at the Guest Services station. Mosaic and Grove Members will receive seating in the center section (50 yard-line) of the bleachers and Grove Members will also have access to an exclusive area where additional complimentary food and drink options will be available. If you can't attend due to the change in venue you will automatically receive a credit to your online ticket account that can be used towards any future Roots ticket purchases.
