Brandon, MB - The Brandon Wheat Kings are excited to partner with RONA Brandon once again to help encourage our community to get outside, get active, and embrace the winter season by building a backyard rink, no matter the size.
Whether it's a simple sheet of ice for your toddlers to skate on or something to rival the Wheat King's own Westoba Place, The RONA Rink Contest wants to see what your family is skating on this winter.
Residents of Westman are encouraged to build a backyard rink and submit a picture or video of it to the hockey club's social media accounts by using the hashtag #RONARink during the RONA Rink Weekend, December 17th - 19th, 2021.
Posting your picture with the #RONARink hashtag on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook is your entry into the contest and all photo entries will be retweeted, shared and re-posted across all of the club's accounts during the RONA Rink submission weekend.
From all the submissions received by the hockey club, three lucky rink builders will be chosen to have Wheat Kings skate on their very own backyard rink this winter!
To help you build the best rink possible, RONA Brandon has assembled five different backyard rink packages with city and rural lot sizes in mind.
Following are the prices (including lumber, 10m poly and screws) for the RONA Backyard Rink Kits now available at RONA Brandon:
15' x 30' $425 plus taxes
20' x 40' $665 plus taxes
40' x 60' $1,250 plus taxes
1/2 NHL Rink (80' x 100') $2,150 plus taxes
NHL Sized Rink (85' x 200') $4,099 plus taxes
