
Rome Sets Playoff Roster

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves have set their playoff roster for their upcoming, best of three, series with the Augusta Greenjackets. Game one is tomorrow night at Augusta with games two and three (if necessary) taking place in Rome at State Mutual Stadium Friday and Saturday.
Joining the Rome club from the Danville Braves of the Appalachian League are right-handed pitchers Jamie Richmond and Kris Medlen. Richmond was 7-1 (1.21) during the regular season while Medlen was 1-0 (0.41) with 20 saves for Danville. During the Appalachian League playoffs both players recorded a win while Medlen had a save.
Also joining the team is catcher Phillip Britton along with outfielders Larry Williams and Willie Cabrera. During the regular season Britton hit .296 with seven homers and 35 RBI while Williams hit .338 with two homers and 46 RBI. Cabrera enjoyed a fine season as well hitting .308 with seven homers and 37 RBI. In post season play Britton hit .333, Cabrera hit .273 and Williams hit .364 with a home run. Danville won the Appalachian League championship Sunday by defeating Elizabethton two games to one.
