
Rome Drops Another to Hagerstown

Rome, GA - The Hagerstown Suns defeated the Rome Braves 3-2 Saturday night in front of 4,158 fans at State Mutual Stadium. It was the Braves' third straight defeat with two of the three losses by one run.
Hagerstown took a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning. David Frietas blasted a solo homerun (1) over the center field wall for the 1-0 score. Later in the inning Sean Nicol singled and later scored on a double by Blake Kelso increasing the lead to 2-0. In the fifth, the Sun's added another run on a ground out RBI by Bryce Harper.
Rome made it a 3-1 game in the sixth inning when Kyle Rose singled and later scored on a Christian Bethancourt ground out. The Braves inched closer in the eighth when Elmer Reyes singled and was chased home on a Keenan Wiley triple.
The Hagerstown bullpen held the Braves the rest of the way for the 3-2 win.
Christopher McKenzie earns the win for Hagerstown (1-0) while Steven Kent takes the tough loss (0-1). Ben Graham earns his second save.
