NORTH BAY, Ont. - Anthony Romani of the North Bay Battalion has been named the Ontario Hockey League's Player of the Week for the period ended Sunday, it was announced Monday.

Right winger Romani scored four goals and earned two assists for six points with a plus-4 mark in three games to receive the recognition for the second time this season.

Romani had one goal and one assist Thursday night in a 4-2 home-ice victory over the Brantford Bulldogs before netting two goals Friday night in a 5-2 road win over the Ottawa 67's. In a 3-2 loss Sunday to the visiting Kitchener Rangers, he scored on a penalty shot and added an assist.

In that span he has scored 13 goals and earned 15 assists for 28 points. He last was held without a point on Nov. 24 in a 3-1 road loss to the Guelph Storm.

The Battalion, with a won-lost-extended record of 18-14-6 for 42 points, is tied for second place in the Central Division with the Mississauga Steelheads, who visit North Bay at 7 p.m. Thursday.
