Rogues Lose, Maintain First Place

MEDFORD, OR - The Medford Rogues' six game winning streak ended tonight at Harry & David Field but the team remained in first place in the WCL South despite a 3-2 loss to the Wenatchee AppleSox.

Wenatchee gained an early lead with a single run in the first inning, then was tied by Medford in the bottom of the third. Single runs in the fourth and fifth gave the AppleSox a 3-1 lead. A sixth-inning single Medford run brought the score to the final of 3-2 in front of a chilly Father's Day crowd of 1,071.

Medford starter Brandon Erickson (1-1) went six innings, giving up two earned runs in taking the loss. For Wenatchee, Ian Buckles (2-0) also went six two-run innings while Calvin LeBrun earned a three-inning save.

AppleSox DH Michael McCann went 3-4 with two RBI to pace Wenatchee while four of Medford's six hits came from SS Yuto Kata and 3B Adonis Morrison, making his Rogues debut, with two hits each.

The two teams finish their three-game series at noon on Monday at Harry & David Field. RHP Brandon Kuchta (0-0, 1.12) starts for the Rogues while Wenatchee has not announced their starting pitcher as of press time.
