Kevin Kline Named WCL Player of the Week
June 16, 2014 - West Coast League (WCL)
Corvallis Knights News Release
Corvallis Knights first baseman Kevin Kline was named the West Coast League Player of the Week for June 9-15, WCL president Dennis Koho announced Monday.
A senior-to-be at Dixie State University in St. George, Utah, Kline hit two grand slams, homered in three consecutive games and hit four homers overall to lead the Knights to series wins over Yakima Valley and Walla Walla.
For the week, he was 6-for-18 (.333) with four home runs, a double and 11 RBIs, with a .478 on base percentage and a 1.056 slugging percentage in five games. He leads the WCL in homers (4) and RBIs (12).
It's the first-ever Player of the Week honor for Kline, a Las Vegas native who earned honorable mention all-WCL honors with the Knights in 2013. He was a PacWest Conference all-star and second-team all-West Region all-star by Daktronics and the NCBWA.
