
Rogues Fall to Harbourcats in Game One

MEDFORD, OR - After a three-game series in Bend over the weekend, the Rogues were back in action at Harry and David Field against the Victoria Harbourcats Monday night. Despite early scoring on both sides, Medford was unable to score runs late in the game and fell to Victoria, 6-4.
The Rogues and the Harbourcats both got on the board early in the first inning, and were tied up at three-runs apiece heading into the fourth inning. Victoria broke the tie in the top of the fourth with a lead-off double, leading Medford 4-3. The Rogues tied it up in the bottom of the fourth with a lead-off single of their own, tying the ballgame up again at 4 runs apiece. Victoria scored two more runs in the fifth inning, leading Medford 6-4 and the Rogues were unable to answer, falling to the Harbourcats 6-4 in game one.
Billy Fredrick led the Rogues offensively with two hits on four plate appearances. He scored two out of the four Medford runs and had one RBI. Fredrick's season batting average improved to .278 in league play. Jimmy Wright was also strong at the plate with one run in two at-bats, and one RBI. Wright's batting average now sits at .184.
Billy Olson got the start for the Rogues, and went four innings, gave up four runs on five hits while striking out two and walking three. His ERA now is at 2.37. Taylor Johnson got the loss for the Rogues, going one inning, giving up two runs on two hits, walking one and striking out one and an ERA of 6.75.
For the Harbourcats, Nick Wojtysiak earned the win going four innings giving up two runs on four hits. He struck out three and walked four with an ERA of 2.89. Shawn Kennedy II got the save for Victoria with 2.2 innings, giving up no runs on one hit and struck out two.
The Rogues and the Harbourcats face off again tomorrow night in game two. Harry and David Field will be Christmas-fied for the Christmas in July benefiting ACCESS game, with a 7:05pm first pitch. For every non-perishable food item brought to donate, fans will receive $1 off their ticket, good for anywhere in the park.
