Medford Rogues News Release
MEDFORD, OR - A sixth-inning grand slam by the Corvallis Knights put the game out of reach as the Medford Rogues lost 8-4 in the second game of a three-game series at Harry and David Field.
The loss drops the Rogues to 5-9 in the West Coast League as Corvallis improves to 7-7 on the season.
Relief pitching continues to be an issue for the Rogues. Rogues Starter Jamie Flynn pitched four complete innings allowing five hits and three runs with three strikeouts before being taken out. Relievers Dillon Keene and Christian Morrison allowed five runs in one inning, including the game-breaking grand slam by Corvallis CF Blake Drake.
The Rogues found little success at the plate recording only five hits on the night as Corvallis totaled 15 of their own.
Rogues designated hitter Kevin Davidson went 1-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs while third baseman Parker Miles recorded two hits and one run. Outfielder Quentin Urban recorded three stolen bases and one run on the night.
Medford cut into the lead in the bottom of the sixth after a sacrifice-fly by shortstop Brody Weiss drove in Urban to make it a 4-8 lead in favor of the Knights but the damage in the sixth proved to be too much for the Rouges.
With the series tied at one game each, action returns Thursday night as these two teams battle it out for the series in game three. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. at Harry and David Field.
