Pensacola Ice Flyers News Release
PENSACOLA, FL. - The Pensacola Ice Flyers have announced that former head coach Rod Aldoff is returning once again to Pensacola to be the bench boss of the Ice Flyers.
"As always it will be a great honor to coach the Ice Flyers," Aldoff stated, "I'm looking forward to building a championship team with a group of players who are not only great hockey players, but first class people off the ice of which our organization and community can be proud."
"It's great to have Rod back with the organization," team owner Greg Harris added, "He brings the success, experience and professionalism that helped build the Ice Flyers organization into what it is today."
Aldoff coached the Ice Flyers during the 2013-16 seasons as well as part of the 2016-17 season when he took over for Kevin Hasselberg, leading the team to win two SPHL championships and one regular season championship. Over his time with the organization, Aldoff became the winningest coach in Ice Flyers history, totaling 113 regular season wins. He was named SPHL Coach of the Year for the 2013-14 season. He spent the last season and part of the previous season as a scout for the Edmonton Oilers of the NHL.
"Rod works extremely hard and communicates his message very well to the players, which greatly contributes to the success his teams have," Greg commented.
"Accountability and professionalism will be core values this team will have, and will be expected of them every day on and off the ice. I look forward to getting back to the panhandle in pursuit of another championship," Aldoff concluded.
