Rocky Mountain Vibes to Bury Time Capsule

August 14, 2019 - Pioneer League (PL) - Rocky Mountain Vibes News Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - At the culmination of the Rocky Mountain Vibes inaugural season next month, after the conclusion of the final home game, the Vibes plan to bury a time capsule under center field. This ceremony is intended to be a celebration of the completion of this first chapter of the new era of Colorado Springs professional baseball, but more than that it's meant to be a celebration of our community.

This has been a great inaugural season for the Rocky Mountain Vibes Baseball Club and the Vibes wants our community to be a part of it - permanently. As part of this inaugural season, the Rocky Mountain Vibes are asking for the community's input as the front office and grounds crew will be burying a time capsule underneath the UCHealth Park field immediately following the last regular-season home game of the year on Saturday, September 7.

If the largest fireworks show of the entire year and new "Vibe-A-Palooza: Space Fest" theme presented by Cobham wasn't enough, the Vibes are also capping off their regular season versus the in-state rival Grand Junction Rockies.

The Vibes request our fans and the entire Pikes Peak Regional community to tell us their ideas as to what items and symbols should be placed in this time capsule. In keeping with the Vibes' season-long theme, what is it that represents Colorado and Colorado Springs to you - that's what we're looking for. Olympic medals? Military Challenge Coins? Railroad spike from the Incline? Share your ideas with the Rocky Mountain Vibes staff and see if your idea gets placed into the time capsule after the Saturday, September 7 game.

The time capsule will be reopened on Toasty's 50th Birthday - Saturday, April 27th, 2069. If your idea gets selected, you'll receive free tickets to the September 7 game and will have the opportunity to be a part of the post-game time capsule burial ceremony.
