Chicago Rockstars News Release

Chicago, IL. Some of the area's top players participated in the Rockstars second tryout camp June 3rd at Fenwick High School in Oak Park, IL. Players from University of Illinois at Chicago, Loyola University, DePaul University, Indiana University as well as veteran players from international leagues showcased their talents in an attempt to fill a roster position with the ABA Chicago Rockstars. "It was great to see a diverse group of players from the states as well as abroad," said Michael Harris, Director of Basketball Operations and Asst Coach.

"The event was an example of the excitement the Rockstar organization will bring to the Chicago area," said Marques Sullivan, owner and CEO. "We are ready to narrow the number of players and get started with Free Agent Camp."

The players went through a variety of drills that demonstrated their natural basketball abilities. Later in the afternoon, the players applied those drills to the scrimmages under the watchful eyes of officials, coaches, agents and other spectators. "We were impressed with their intensity and energy; they put it all on the floor," said George Keehn, Asst Head Coach and Director of Player Development.

The Rockstar coaches will meet this week to evaluate the talent of players and invite the top players to the final tryout before Free Agent Camp. "This will be our biggest challenge with the selection process because of the talent pool," added Kenny Williams, GM and Head Coach. "We have our work cut out for us but that's a good problem." The list of players that will be invited back will be posted Saturday, June 10th at www.rockstarbasketball.com/roster. For more information, visit www.rockstarbasketball.com or www.abalive.com.
