Rockford's win streak halted at Michigan

Rockford, IL- All good things eventually come to an end, and the Rockford Lightning's five-game streak stopped Wednesday night in Muskegon. Michigan bolted out to a 35-21 first quarter victory, and edged the Lightning by a score of 122-115 at the L.C. Walker Arena.

Marshall Phillips led the way for the Bolts with a double double, scoring 25 points, which included going 14-of-16 from the charity stripe, and hauling down 11 boards in the contest. Five players scored in double digits for the Lightning, Brant Bailey added 23 points for Rockford, while Jermaine Walker chipped in 18. Cordell Henry led the way in assists, dishing out five dimes for Rockford in the contest. The Lightning were outshot in the ball game 54.4% to 44.3%, but earned 2.5 quarter points for tying the second quarter, and winning the last two quarters of the game. Michigan had six players in double digits, led by former Bolt Sam Mack's 38 points.

Rockford continues their road trip this weekend with games in Gary on March 4, and Sioux Falls on March 5. The Lightning return home for their final regular season game of the year on March 13, when they host the Dakota Wizards.
