Sioux Falls' Livingston called up to Utah Jazz
March 3, 2005 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1) News Release
Boise, ID (March 3, 2005) â Sioux Falls Skyforce guard Randy Livingston has signed a 10-day contract with the NBA's Utah Jazz, it was announced today by the Continental Basketball Association League Office and Jazz Vice President of Basketball Operations Kevin O'Connor. The signing marks the 12th CBA-to-NBA call-up of the 2004-05 season, and the fourth different player called-up from the Skyforce (Corsley Edwards â New Orleans Hornets â 12/4/04; John Thomas â Minnesota Timberwolves â 1/10/05; Donnell Harvey â New Jersey Nets â 2/1/05).
Livingston averaged 13.2 points and 8.4 assists per game in 40 games played (39 started) for the Skyforce. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound guard was selected to his second CBA All-Star team this season where he posted 19 points, 10 assists, four rebounds and two steals. He was first named an All-Star during the 2000-01 season as a member of the Idaho Stampede. Livingston is also a three-time CBA All-League Second Team member (1999, 2002, 2004).
The Louisiana State alum ('96) is now the all-time leader in CBA-to-NBA call-ups with seven. He earned two call-ups during the 1997-98 season (Atlanta Hawks on 12/9/97 and 1/9/98), and one each during the 1998-99 (1/22/99, Miami Heat), 2001-02 (3/8/02, Seattle SuperSonics), 2002-03 (1/27/03, New Orleans Hornets), and 2003-04 (3/28/04, Los Angeles Clippers) seasons. Livingston holds all-time NBA career averages of 4.0 points, 2.1 assists and 1.5 rebounds per game in 177 games played with the Houston Rockets, Atlanta, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, Seattle, New Orleans, and Los Angeles.
Livingston, who will be filling a roster spot left open when the Jazz placed forward Carlos Boozer on the injured list with a sprained right foot, joins fellow CBA alums Raja Bell and Keith McLeod on the Jazz roster.
