
Rockford secure road win over Wizards

Bismarck, ND- It may be cold in North Dakota at this time of year, but there was nothing freezing about the Rockford Lightning's performance in their 107-101 victory over the Dakota Wizards Friday night. The Lightning picked up their fourth road victory of the year, as six players scored in double digits in the contest.
The double-digit dominance was led by Brant Bailey, who was the top scorer for Rockford with 20 points. Bailey also hauled down eight rebounds to top that department for the Bolts. Keith Closs had another stellar night, blocking eight of the Wizards' shot attempts in the contest. Newly signed Cordell Henry tallied four assists in his Rockford debut. Marshall Phillips had a game-high seven steals for the Lightning. Other players who scored in double digits; Ronnie Fields had 19 points, Phillips had 18, Jermaine Walker had 17, Stais Boseman had 13 and Brian Lubeck had 11 points to round out the double-digit scorers for Rockford. Rockford earned five quarter points in the game, but still trail the Great Lakes Storm by half a quarter point in the CBA's Eastern Conference.
Rockford and Dakota square off again tonight to finish off their back-to-back series. The Lightning then return home for dual home games on Monday, January 31 and Tuesday, February 1. The Bolts host the team that they sit behind in the East, the Great Lakes Storm for the second time in six days on Monday, January 31. The last time the two teams met, Great Lakes edged Rockford with a 135-130 extra session victory. Then, the Lightning host rival Gary on Tuesday, February 1.
