Kelowna Rockets forward prospect Liam Kindree was named the Offensive Player of the Year in the BC Major Midget Hockey League.

Kindree, who was drafted in the fourth round, 87th overall by the Rockets in the 2015 Bantam draft, finished this season leading his league in scoring with 28 goals and 39 assists for 67 points in 40 games played. He also added four goals and three assists for seven points in five playoff games.

The 5'10 native of North Vancouver played seven games in a Rockets uniform during the regular season this year. He got himself an assist in those seven games as well as a -1 plus/minus rating. He also played in the last game against the Portland Winterhawks in round two of the 2017 WHL Playoffs.

Kindree is currently up with the Rockets and will remain with the club until the off-season as he was recalled from his midget club the Vancouver NW Giants following their elimination from their playoffs.

You can catch the entire Rockets squad in action tonight when they start game one of the Western Conference Championship against the Seattle Thunderbirds in Kent, Washington with puck drop going at 7:35pm.

Game two is the following evening, Saturday, April 21st, again in the ShoWare Center in Kent, this time with puck drop going at 7:05pm.

The series shifts back to Kelowna for games three and four starting on Tuesday, April 25th, at 7:05pm at Prospera Place.
