August 9, 2022 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Green Bay Rockers News Release
Ashwaubenon, Wis. - The Green Bay Rockers take on the Madison Mallards for the final time this regular season Tuesday, with first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. from Capital Credit Union Park.
The pregame concert performed by Brian James will start at 5:35 p.m. with it also being TV Tuesday at the ballpark. The winner of baseball bingo will receive a new 50" TV. It is also 'Ashwaubenon Night' at the ballpark as part of Village's Sesquicentennial Celebration.
The Rockers most recently took down the Mallards Monday night at home 5-4, in which they scored the last two runs of the game to secure their third straight victory.
Tristin Garcia, and Brett Blair each had themselves an RBI for the Rockers while Matt Scannell delivered the game winning RBI in the seventh.
The RBI from Scannell came on a fielder's choice as Scannell's speed brought home a run in for Green Bay, handing them their sixth win over the Mallards in 2022.
Kyle Stoddard secured his second win of the season on the mound pitching 6.1 innings and giving up no runs on just three hits, striking out eight batters in the process while walking just one.
As for Tuesday's matchup, the Rockers will send Will Semb out to the mound as he comes in with a 4-5 record in 50.1 innings pitched with 24 walks and a league leading 58 strikeouts.
Semb last pitched in the MLD Showcase and pitched one inning in that game, striking out all three batters he faced in the frame.
The Rockers will continue their five-game home stand Wednesday following the series finale against the Mallards, as they'll take on the Wausau Woodchucks over the next two days. First pitch on Wednesday is set for 6:35 p.m. at Capital Credit Union Park.
