Rock winning streak ends in Philly

TORONTO - The Toronto Rock's six-game winning streak came to an end on Saturday in Philadelphia with the Rock losing 14-12 to the rival Wings. The season series between those two teams is now tied at 1 and they will meet once more in the Rock's final regular season home game on April 8 at 7 p.m.

Up next: The Rock's next game is this Saturday March 11 at the HSBC Arena in Buffalo. The game begins at 7:30 p.m. and can be heard live on the Fan 590.

Next practice: Toronto's next practice is this Wednesday March 8 at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena in Hagersville from 9-11 p.m. It is open to all media.

Charity Game Recap: The Toronto Rock Lacrosse Club rose over $25,000 for Stop the Violence and Special Olympics Ontario in a silent auction and fund-raiser on Friday night, with Aaron Wilson's jersey being the top seller going for $2,005. The jerseys were a limited edition special third jersey (red with blue and white trim). It's the sixth season the Rock has been auctioning off third jerseys for charity. The Rock won the March 3 Charity Game in a 13-8 triumph over the Minnesota Swarm.

New member in Rock family: Head coach and general manager Terry Sanderson has a new granddaughter and Rock forward Josh Sanderson a new daughter as they welcomed in a baby girl into the world on Saturday night. Ashley Jade weighed in just over 8 lbs.

Upcoming Milestones: Blaine Manning is two points from 400 career points.... Matt Shearer, who is out for the next three to four weeks with a broken arm is just 5 goals away from 200 career goals... Josh Sanderson is just 8 goals away from 200 career tallies... Phil Sanderson is 10 PIM away from 200 career PIM...
