
February Player of the Month Awards Announced

Minnesota Swarm goaltender Nick Patterson was named the Overall Player of the Month and Portland LumberJax defenseman Brodie Merrill was named the Rookie of the Month for the month of February. Patterson led the Swarm to a 2-1 record in February including a 7-6 win over Edmonton and an 11-10 win over Philadelphia. Patterson was the Week Six and Week Seven Defensive Player of the Week during February. Portland LumberJax defenseman Brodie Merrill was named the February Rookie of the Month after helping the LumberJax to a 1-1 record during the month. In Week Eight, Merrill was the Offensive Player of the Week and the Rookie of the Week for his performance in a 15-12 victory over Philadelphia.

Patterson was the Week Six and Week Seven Defensive Player of the Week during February. The fourth-year goaltender totaled 121 saves and allowed 30 goals in three games during the month of February. Patterson also tallied four points, all on assists during the month.
Portland LumberJax defenseman Brodie Merrill was named the February Rookie of the Month. Merrill helped the LumberJax to a 1-1 record during the month and was the Week Eight Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week for his performance in a 15-12 victory over Philadelphia. In two games in February, Merrill totaled 10 points on three goals and seven assists. The Georgetown University graduate also scored a power-play goal and collected 28 loose balls during February.
