Rock Cats Set New Weekend Attendance Mark

New Britain, CT- The New Britain Rock Cats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, just completed a weekend series that attracted 22,813 fans to New Britain Stadium, the largest three game weekend in franchise history. All three games against the Binghamton Mets were capacity crowds, including a season-high 8,079 fans on Saturday night. The Rock Cats drew 7,769 fans on Friday for the special Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) night and played in front of 6,965 fans today. The Rock Cats have now played in front of four capacity crowds this season, including three straight at New Britain Stadium.

In addition, the Rock Cats set a new record for a single game crowd in the month of May (5/31 - 8,079), good enough to also tie for tenth place in all-time attendance history. Friday's crowd (5/30 - 7,769) ranks as the 16th largest crowd in New Britain history.

The Rock Cats are off tomorrow but return to New Britain Stadium on Tuesday at 6:35 PM to host the Cleveland Indians' affiliate, the Akron Rubber Ducks. Tickets remain for all three games (Tuesday-Thursday) against Akron by calling 860-224-8383 or visiting www.rockcats.com .
