DIAMOND IS FOREVER: Scott Diamond is the first Red Wings pitcher to win 4 straight starts at any point in the season since Francisco Liriano won a resounding 7 consecutive starts June 25-July 27, 2008.
AND THEY'RE OFF: At 9-8, the Red Wings are off to their best start since the 2007 club went 13-4 in its first 17 games...the Wings have spent all but 2 days at or above the .500 mark.
BRING OUT THE BROOMS: The Red Wings swept a series of any length against Lehigh Valley for the first time since a 3-gamer August 6-7, 2008 at Frontier Field.
THAT WAS CLOSE: The Wings improved to 3-1 in one-run games... all 4 one-run contests have been played at home.
SWEET 16: Sixteen of the Red Wings' 17 games have been decided by 3 runs or less...a save has been recorded in each of Rochester's 17 contests.
TAKE IT EASY: Following today's game, the Wings will enjoy their first offday tomorrow and then welcome Bryce Harper and the Syracuse Chiefs (Nationals) to town for a 3-game series Tuesday-Thursday...after tomorrow's offday, Rochester will play a season-high 29 days in a row through May 22.
