BATS SEVEN-RUN SECOND INNING DOES IN RED WINGS, 8-3-Louisville catcher Devin Mesoraco hit a two-run single and Bats first baseman Mike Costanzo hit a two-run double in a seven-run second inning, as Louisville defeated Rochester 8-3, Friday night at Louisville Slugger Field. Starter Scott Diamond (4-10) took the loss, allowing eight runs on 12 hits while walking two and striking out two in just 2.2 innings of work. Everybody in the starting lineup, with the exception of Rene Tosoni, had a hit in the Red Wings' eight-hit attack. Rochester had a three-game winning streak snapped and finished the eight-game road trip with a 4-4 record. *WHAT'S ON DECK*

HOME, SWEET, HOME-The Red Wings begin an eight-game homestand tonight with the first game of a two-game series vs. Scranton. Rochester will play Scranton tonight and Sunday before concluding the homestand with a two-game series vs. Buffalo Monday and Tuesday. Rochester will hit the road for an eight-game road trip to Norfolk and Durham starting Wednesday.

ROAD WARRIORS-Of the 38 games left on the Red Wings 2011 schedule 22 of those games are road games (16 home games left). Rochester will play 11 of their final 15 games (includes a doubleheader at Syracuse August 26) away from Frontier Field.

*WHAT'S NEWS*

HOLLIMON PROMOTED TO WINGS-Infielder Mike Hollimon was promoted to Rochester from Double-A New Britain today. Hollimon was batting .218 with 12 home runs (team-leading) and 39 RBI in 74 games for the Rock Cats. Hollimon takes the roster spot of infielder Luke Hughes who was promoted to the Minnesota Twins.

OH WHAT A RELIEF!-The Red Wings bullpen has been outstanding the last four games, going 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA. In 16.0 consecutive scoreless innings of work, the bullpen has allowed just six hits while walking four and striking out 12. On the just completed eight-game road trip the bullpen was 1-2 with a 1.13 ERA. In 32.0 innings of work, the pen allowed just three runs on 16 hits while walking nine and striking out 24. The bullpen didn't allow a run in five of those eight games.

IT'S A SIX INNING GAME-So far this season you can usually tell what is going to happen in the Red Wings game after six innings. The Red Wings hold just a 2-51 record when trailing after six innings and a 35-7 record when leading after six innings. Since the start of the 2010 season Rochester has just an 8-122 record when trailing after six innings. Rochester hasn't had much luck rallying in the later innings as well (since start of 2010 season 5-125 record when trailing after seven innings and 1-134 record when trailing after eight innings).

YOU CAN'T TELL THE PLAYERS WITHOUT A SCORECARD-The 2011 Red Wings have endured 109 transactions and used 51 different players (24 pitchers & 27 position players). The club had 19 transactions in April, 29 in May, 30 in June and 29 so far in July. The 51 players used in 2011 ties the 1996 team for the second most players used in one season. The alltime franchise record is 62 players & 134 transactions set back in 1995. Rochester has already sent 16 different players to the Minnesota Twins this season (14 players from Opening Day roster).
