Rochester Honkers Signee, Infielder Kyle Kasser with the University of Oregon

(Rochester, Minn.) - The Rochester Honkers announced today the signing of infielder Kyle Kasser, from the University of Oregon, for the 2016 season.
Kasser is a 5-foot-10, 176-pound sophomore infielder from Brea, California. He appeared in 26 games as a freshman in 2015, hitting .208 with seven RBIs in 24 plate appearances. He proved to be an asset off the bench, hitting .333 with a double, seven RBIs and two walks in 19 plate appearances as a pinch-hitter.
A 2014 graduate of Brea Olinda High School, Kasser earned four letters in baseball. He finished his senior season hitting .434 in 30 games played with eight doubles and nine stolen bases. He struck out only two times in 115 plate appearances. He also didn't commit a single error while playing in the infield.
Kasser has played for the El Dorado Broncos of the Jayhawk League in the summer of 2015, and prior to that, the Klamath Falls Gems of the West Coast Collegiate League in 2014.
The Oregon Ducks are picked to finish fourth in the 2016 Pac-12 Preseason Baseball Coaches' Poll, behind Oregon State, UCLA and California. They open up the 2016 season on Friday, February 19, when they travel to San Diego State for three-game series with the Aztecs.
The Rochester Honkers 23rd season begins on May 31st when the team travels to Eau Claire, Wisconsin to take on the Express. The following night, Wednesday, June 1st, the Honkers battle the Express in their home opener at Mayo Field at 7:05 pm. Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available.
