Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release
MUSKEGON, MI.--- Through their surge to the summit of the IHL from a 3-games' win streak in 3-nights, the co-league-leading Muskegon Lumberjacks are beginning to reap the bounteous benefits of such gusto and grandeur. Today, the International Hockey League, in conjunction with the Lumberjacks, has announced that center TODD ROBINSON has been acclaimed PEPSI / IHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK and center MAXIME LINCOURT has been proclaimed AQUAFINA / IHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK for the week of November 3rd through November 9th.
In capturing his coveted honors for a second successive week, ROBINSON sustained his torrid scoring pace that has seen him skyrocket rather meteorically to the IHL league leadership in prolific point productivity with 21-points in the season's initial 8-games on 9-goals, 12-assists for a per game points average of a gaudy 2.62 and a supreme +10 rating.
The past 'Jacks sweep of the week saw Robinson regally and royally dominant, percolating a prodigious 11-points in 3-games on 3-goals, 8-assists with a brilliant +7 rating. The 30-year-old 10-year pro from Trail, B.C. launched his second consecutive week of scoring virtuosity with 1-goal, 1-assist in his team's remarkable 4-goal third period resurgence at Flint where the Lumberjacks utterly snatched victory from the jaws of defeat as they surmounted a 3-1 deficit in a 5-3 conquest. The 5-8, 175lb slick centerman fashioned the game's FG in that one, earning the game's #3 Star. Returning home for the balance of the weekend, the 'Jacks' captain was awesome and then-some, amassing 9-points in 2-games on 2-goals, 7-assists. He engineered 4-of those arrangements Friday night in another comeback victory verdict as Muskegon overtook defending champion Fort Wayne and climbed into a share of the IHL top spot with the Komets, 6-4. Muskegon's second all-time leading scorer was hailed the #1 Star for that particular master-piece. "T. Rob" climaxed the crescendo Saturday night when he accounted for all 5-goals on 2-goals, 3-assists, including the GWG and IG, again earning #1 Star status in his club's 5-2 dismissal of Flint.
The pre-eminent prince of points pivot is currently riding the rapids of a 5-game point streak; 5(6-10-16), averaging 3.20 points per game. The Lumberjacks incomparable impresario has already maestroed 6-multiple point games and 3-multiple goal games. Robinson has been prominent and predominant, sharing the IHL leadership in goals (9); PPA (5); GWG (2); while topping the loop in SHG (2). His 12-assists and 9/25 goal scoring shooting percentage of .360 both rank as circuit second best. His +10 rating ranks IHL #3.
LINCOURT, 21, has continued to show much promise and impress with his precocious on-ice offensive stylings. The league's second top scoring rookie was, again, as is his persona, somewhat deceptively unobtrusive but very effective. The Montreal, PQ native emerged as a key spoke in the wheel in his team's perfect 3(3-0-0) work week. Notching a key goal in each contest; 3(3-0-3), Lincourt delivered the GTG Thursday night in that 'Jacks stirring 4-goal third period rally that produced the 5-3 triumph in Flint. The next night, on home ice, he connected on the TBG/GWG, once again in the third period, in Muskegon's 6-4 triumph over Fort Wayne. He crowned his week with the ENG Saturday night to clinch the victory over Flint, 5-2. For the season, he is listed #2 in IHL rookie point and goal scoring, averaging a point a game; 8(5-3-8). He is presently enjoying a 5-game point streak; 5(4-2-6).
This is the third consecutive week that the Lumberjacks have been honored with the Player of the Week award and the second straight week for Robinson. Robinson's linemate, Luke Stauffacher received the coveted laurels two weeks ago, the week of October 20th through October 26th.
