Montgomery Biscuits News Release

PEARL, Miss. - Daniel Robertson crushed a game-tying home run in the fifth inning, the Biscuits (12-13) lost to the Mississippi Braves (11-12) 3-2 Monday afternoon at Trustmark Park.

With the game tied at two in the seventh inning, Matt Lipka came to the plate with the go-ahead run on third. Bradin Hagens got the count to 1-2 on Lipka, but the Braves leadoff man poked a soft single into right field to give the Braves the lead, a lead they would not give back.

Daniel Robertson crushed a two-run home run down the left field line in the fifth inning off of former-Biscuit Victor Mateo to tie the game at two. Robertson finished the series with eight runs driven in and seven runs scored.

Hagens went seven strong innings, but allowed all three runs for the loss. It was the fifth time this season a Biscuits pitcher has gone at least seven innings.

The Biscuits have an off day on Tuesday but will open a five game series at home on Wednesday night against the Birmingham Barons. RH Jaime Schultz will throw for the Biscuits. First pitch is slated for 7:05.
